چکیده
coastal areas usually involves in several kinds of water use, such as agricultural, industrial, and drinking, which are needed to be considered as important in water management systems. there is a need to study the sustainable water resources management in different terms. a combined methodology, which considers the human activities, as well as environmental problems according to some criteria, such as socio-ecological attributes (endpoints), has been created and used. the model is applied in northern region of iran in combination with gis and is developed for groundwater contamination where the wells have been overexploited and are showing a wrong management system in the study area. to assess the system management, integration on endpoints (which were made through considering some socio-ecological criteria) by means of an overall susceptibility index (osi) is applied. the susceptibility of the system to environmental pollution, salinization, and water deficit in aquatic systems for agricultural uses were quantified by using these criteria. results indicated that with high osi in the area, in order to have a sustainable management in the area it is necessary to improve the water renewal and the water quality.
